Independent clinical labs
One desk for the independent lab.
You run the tests, answer the phones, chase the payments and keep the referring doctors happy. Lab Desk puts all of that in one place, so the lab isn't held together by spreadsheets.

Sound familiar?
Small team, big lab workload.
Five places for one order.
The requisition is on paper, the result is in the analyzer, the payment is in a notebook and the patient's email is somewhere in the inbox.
Retyping printouts.
Someone copies analyzer values by hand, then someone else checks them. It takes time and it's where mistakes creep in.
The phone never stops.
Patients ask if results are ready. Doctors' offices ask for a copy. Each call pulls a person off the bench.
Orders and results
From requisition to released result in one flow.
Create one order per visit with the patient, ordering provider, tests, sample ID and collection time. Enter results by hand or receive them from connected analyzers, matched by sample ID.
- Clear status from ordered to shared
- Analyzer connections over ASTM, HL7 v2 or CSV import
- 2 instrument interfaces on Growth, 5 on Pro

Review
Abnormal values at the top of the pile.
Lab Desk checks each result against your reference ranges and lists anything high or low for review first. Your staff confirm every flag before release.
- Flags appear as results come in
- Plain-language patient summaries drafted for staff to edit and approve
- Patient data is never used to train AI

Sharing
Results reach patients and doctors when you release them.
Patients get a secure link by email or WhatsApp. The ordering doctor gets their own link with abnormal values highlighted, plus a standing link to every result they ordered.
- Messages carry a notice and a link, never the results
- Optional identity check before a link opens
- See when a result was opened

Payments
Get paid without the notebook.
Connect your own Stripe account and add a payment link to any result or invoice. Money goes to your bank account, in USD, CAD or GBP.
- Cards and digital wallets through Stripe
- Card details handled by Stripe, never stored by Lab Desk
- Open balances shown on the patient record

A typical day
What a morning looks like on Lab Desk.
- 1
Samples arrive.
Front desk creates the order, records the sample ID and collection time, and sends a payment link if one is due.
- 2
Results come in.
Connected analyzers send results to the order. Anything else is entered by hand against the same order.
- 3
Staff review.
Flagged values sit at the top of the queue. A technologist confirms them and approves the patient summary.
- 4
Results go out.
One release sends the patient link and the provider link. Fewer calls come in after lunch.
Frequently asked questions
Which analyzers does Lab Desk connect to?
Lab Desk supports analyzers that use ASTM E1394 or HL7 v2, with CSV file import as a fallback. A small connector app on a lab PC, Lab Desk Bridge, handles the link. We don't list specific models at launch, so tell us what you run and we'll check it with you.
Can we import our existing patients?
Yes. Upload a CSV from your current system or spreadsheet and map the columns. Early-access labs get help with the import.
How is Lab Desk priced?
By orders, not seats. One order is one patient requisition, however many tests it holds. See pricing for the plans.
Is Lab Desk HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Lab Desk is HIPAA and GDPR compliant, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with every US lab.
Does the AI make clinical decisions?
No. It flags results outside your reference ranges and drafts summaries. Your staff review and approve every flag and summary before anything is shared.
